Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure that you have the following:

• Access to a GitHub account

• For organization access: Kubiya GitHub App installed on your GitHub organization

Enabling the Integration

From the web interface

Integration Setup:

1. Log in to your Kubiya dashboard.

Enable GitHub:

2. Navigate to the "Connections" panel.

Connect GitHub:

3. Locate the GitHub connection and click "Connect"

Choose deployment method: Kubiya currently supports only hosted runners for proper end to end GitHub integration:

Authorize your GitHub account:

When conversing with agents, even on platforms like Slack, and want to use it with GitHub, you need to log in with GitHub's system (OAuth2). Each person has to do this separately, ensuring only they can use their specific login and permissions with Kubiya.

You will be redirected to GitHub to authorize your account

You can now chat with Kubiya about your GitHub resources

From the Slack App

Using the /manage slash command.

1. Use the /manage slash command to enter the management interface:

   
2. Click on "Connect with GitHub.."

3. Click on "Authorize Github":

   

4. You will be redirected to GitHub to authorize your account.

5. Start any agent with GitHub integration enabled to use your credentials. The GitHub OAuth2 token will be passed to the container environment automatically - named: GH_TOKEN (matches with GitHub CLI)
